As collectors and investors, we share and respect your dedication to the American art that we believe in. Our focus is limited to masterpiece American oil paintings, generally of the period from 1840 to 1940. For our clients and ourselves, these are the great 100 years, which include paintings by Inness and Wyant, continue on to Sargent, Eakins and Crane, and end with the works of Hassam, Twachtman, Henri, Lawson, Schofield, Gruppe and Wolf Kahn.
We enjoy the artistic preferences of our fellow collectors, who seek for representational works within the varying American contexts of Realism, Tonalism and Impressionism. For us the image of nature, including the human figure, is paramount, no matter what pictorial technique is used to imaginatively portray it.
We share a common commitment to works of the highest quality, and we seek paintings from a full range of American painters, from the most well known to others who we think command respect, such as Enneking, Farndon, Norton and Perry. This is our sole focus, and we are pleased to work with clients and collectors who share its deep and lasting appeal.

Our clients make use of our expertise as collectors and investors both. We believe you will benefit from our long experience both in the art market and in financial services. The art market is largely unregulated, and the collecting task is not easy. Forgeries are everywhere; mark-ups can be excessive; auctions are never as simple as they seem. Please let us help you--the current environment is terribly difficult for collectors.
Our clients prefer us because we bring wealth management skills to the art collecting experience. Above all, we are collector-investors who put value first. We are dealers in paintings, but our clients use us in many ways, and we may assist you as a seller, either as a purchaser of your collection, or as an advisor and evaluator. We also represent clients at auction, and help them as intermediaries in the acquisition of individual works intended to fill gaps in their holdings.
